Mid-Coast has been gifted with 5 crosses over the years, and the location where the cross hangs in the sanctuary was designed so each of the crosses could be used in its liturgical season. Here we share a little about our crosses.

The cross appears in many cultures and carries many meanings. In the early church, the cross became inseparably linked to the person and work of Jesus Christ. Wherever early Christians saw the shape of a cross, for instance, in the anchor, they discerned Christ therein. The cross, associated with painful death, was transformed into a symbol of new life. It is a reminder of the resurrection and presence of the risen Christ.
