Worship

WorshipSpecials3BOur weekly worship at MCPC is Sunday morning at 10:10 AM – a time of coming together as a worshipping community to celebrate, praise, learn, pray, and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Worship takes place in our bright and beautiful Sanctuary as well as online. It is streamed live on Facebook and available for later viewing. (Click here for MCPC’s Facebook page.) We remain pandemic-aware — congregants wear masks as they choose, and communion, offering collection, and sharing of prayer requests have been adjusted to honor concerns for personal health.

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated the first Sunday of every month.  Additional special services, as well as baptisms, weddings, and memorials occur throughout the year.  We also have Quiet Days for prayer and reflection at special times of the year, such as Advent and Lent.

Responsibility for worship leadership is shared among our pastor and congregation members. The Worship Team works with Pastor Diane in planning and organizing our worship services, especially with consideration of the special seasons and times in the life of the congregation. Recognizing the diversity of our worshipping community, the Worship Team strives to plan services that are diverse, creative, inspirational and most importantly, filled with praise and gratitude to our Maker.

Our Sanctuary is very accessible: chairs instead of pews allow space for wheelchairs; we have a dedicated children’s space with a quilt on the floor and soft toys, coloring sheets, and books; and there are also rocking chairs for whomever likes such a place to sit. And our large windows allow worshippers to enjoy God’s beautiful handiwork and the changing of the seasons.

May 2017 co-missioning DHH for TC13 (2)Our joyful Worship at MCPC includes weekly liturgists and greeters; banners and paraments for the liturgical seasons; special flowers such as poinsettias for Christmas, palms for Palm Sunday, lilies for Easter, and roses for All Saints Sunday; special music from soloists or our choir; and on occasion the blessing of retired ministers or “Preachers from the Pew” in the pulpit.

Every Sunday after worship, Fellowship Hour offers a time to continue greeting and catching up with one another. We also enjoy refreshments (both nutritious and sweet) and a cup of tea or coffee from Wicked Joe’s (locally blended and free trade).

Clowning Around with Pastor Diane

We faithfully make room for the Holy Spirit as we both celebrate and lament together. We share our joys and concerns in worship. From Readers’ Theater to the whole congregation participating in The Sermon on the Mount, we seek to be creative in sharing the Word of God. Our Worship Team is always looking for new ways to share the Good News while offering praise and thanksgiving to God.

We pray for God’s continuing guidance in all we do. May God bless the work of our hearts, our hands, and our worship.
