Held every S
undays after Worship’s Lesson for Young Christians

After the Lesson for Young Christians in Worship (which is always a lesson for all the children of God), the children are invited to Church School.  It is centered around “Godly Play”, an approach to bible story telling that allows children “to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play.” The children hear stories of the faith and are given the opportunity to wonder – to wonder about a certain part of the story, to wonder about what the story might be telling them, to wonder about God in their own lives.  The group is sometimes small, but this allows more personalized attention for each child. his curriculum

Please pray for both our children, that they be spiritually nourished, and for our Sunday School teacher Balinda and those that help her!

Meets year round, Tuesdays, 10:00 to 11:30 am

Every week, between 6 and 10 people meet to study the texts on which the sermon for the coming Sunday will be based. We have become quite comfortable with each other so we truly welcome new faces and new perspectives. Occasionally, we will depart from the Lectionary and our pastor relies on the LBS group for feedback and insights into how the congregation might respond – as they did for the series on Christian Death. Members of the group have expressed a greater appreciation for the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and an increased understanding of how they are connected to the Gospels and Epistles (New Testament). We always open with updates and prayer requests and we always end with a Psalm. The LBS group is open to the movement of the Spirit and I am privileged to listen in on the conversation.

Please pray courage for members to occasionally lead the study & for newcomers to join; may God continue to enrich our time together.

Meets on the 3rd Saturday every month from 8:00 to 9:30am
at the Broadway Delicatessen (142 Maine Street) in Brunswick.

The men of MCPC, both members and friends, have been experiencing a good meal, a good discussion, a good sharing of concerns, and a good time of prayer for the people and holy work of our congregation. Each 3rd Saturday of the month, between 8 and 15 men gather to support each other in fellowship.

We also keep involved in the life of the congregation as we pitch in to help with Pumpkin patch, fall raking, spring cleanup, and Habitat workdays. We consider it to be a worthwhile part of our men’s witness, in spite of the aching muscle and pains.

We always want more of you to come aboard! Nothing is better than to have a good meal, a good discussion, a good look at the scriptures and a good time to support our ministry and mission with prayer and feasting. Join us!

We pray that those who gather deepen their faith and fellowship through their participation, that service to MCPC and the community expands, and that the group continues to grow.

We also hold other Bible studies throughout the year, such as during Lent or as the Holy Spirit moves us to do so. Past studies have included “What We Believe: Understanding Our Creeds and Confessions”, Bible 101, and Jesus throughout the Bible.
