The Pumpkin Patch at MCPC in 2014 … from the Annual Report

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins! You may have seen the Facebook photo (on Facebook or on our bulletin board outside Fellowship Hall) of the great unloading of the pumpkins this year. Grown in New Mexico on Navajo Nation land, the pumpkins arrived in mid-October on a huge van; and we had the help of boy scouts, girl scouts, an assortment of members, family and friends, in the unloading of 1175 pumpkins – it was a fun community event!

The annual Pumpkin Patch is a lightning rod for the community – allowing our church to reach far beyond the membership.  Neighbors look forward to the arrival of the pumpkins and the orange (mostly) patch of pumpkins has increased our church’s visibility many fold. Customers return year after year and share stories of relationships with our congregation.

Let us pray that the 2015 Pumpkin Patch nurtures even more connections.
