All are invited to worship and study with MCPC this Lent.

ASH WEDNESDAY Worship including imposition of Ashes at 5 PM, Feb 22, 2023
PALM SUNDAY Worship at 10:10 AM, April 2, 2023
MAUNDY THURSDAY Worship at 5 PM, April 6, 202

In addition to special services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Palm Sunday, there are a few more ways to join in the journey.

Lenten Conversations on The Passion Play… Following worship each week of Lent, all are invited to join Pastor Diane in reading through the script of The Passion Play. The script offers not just the words from scripture but helps us to consider all that was happening in and around the biblical story of Holy Week. (Last Lent introduced us to The Passion Play and the story of Oberammergau, Germany, where the play is performed every 10 years.) We will gather in the West Room at 11:30 AM (for an hour or so) Sundays, February 26 through April 2.

Lent Madness…Throughout Lent you can learn about the lives of some more of the Communion of Saints–the Saints of God from around the world, brought to you by the folks at Lent Madness. Each day we are presented with a pair of saints and a brief piece about who they are and their impact in the world. And everyone signed up for Lent Madness gets a vote on which saint is their favorite… and when we’ve looked at all the Saints once, it starts matching the winning Saints against each other until we’re down to one — and that saint is awarded the Golden Halo! Check out the info on the Fellowship Hall hallway bulletin board or head to Lent Madness for more info and to signup to get the daily emails about the saints.

One Great Hour of Sharing… Lent is also the time for One Great Hour of Sharing , a special offering supporting Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program, and the Self-Development of People. More information is available at PCUSA’s Special Offerings web page, including an interactive map of where PDA, PHP, & SDOP are active in the world. The OGHS Offering will be received on Palm Sunday (April 2).
