Winter Bags – Mission Accomplished!

The Deacons delivered 18 Winter Bags to the Topsham Police Department this morning. They were very thankful.  The department will distribute the bags as they are needed this winter.

So… what are these “WINTER BAGS”?

Cold winters are hard in Maine especially if you are homeless so the Deacons will be preparing “Winter Bags”. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick did this last year and, through Brunswick Area Interfaith Council, have invited other congregations to join the project. The bags will be distributed by local police departments as needed.

Items included in the Warming Bags were hats, scarves, fingerless mittens with cap, warm socks, hand and foot warmers, granola or other bars (heavy on peanuts offers a minor source of protein as well as calories), gift cards for local grocery stores or fast food.
