THIS YEAR, THE LOCAL PORTION OF THE PEACE & GLOBAL WITNESS OFFERING RECEIVED AT MCPC WILL BE DIRECTED TO BRIGHT START CHILDCARE AS THEY SEEK TO REOPEN FOLLOWING THEIR PANDEMIC CLOSURE.
As we work to share Christ’s peace with one another, let’s share that peace with those beyond our doors, beyond our communities and beyond our borders. The Peace & Global Witness Offering provides the tools and resources for us as we join together as active peacemakers — at all times, in all ways.
The Peace & Global Witness Special Offering will be received at MCPC on October 3, 2021 – World Communion Sunday. You may place your contribution in the offering on Sunday or mail it to the church – please be sure to note “P&GW” on your check or use one of the P&GW envelopes that can be found in the Narthex. You may also contribute using PayPal, available through HOW TO SUPPORT OUR MINISTRY in the main menu.
50% of the offering goes to the Presbyterian Peacemaking and the Presbyterian Mission Agency to partner with ministries around the world. 25% goes to mid councils for peacemaking ministries on the regional level.
A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize up to 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ’s peace. Mid councils retain an additional 25% for ministries of peace and reconciliation. The remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.
