Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
And he said, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?”
And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
You are invited to a Lenten walk with MCPC. In addition to special services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Palm Sunday and Easter, this year there are several ways to join in the journey – participate in one or many, however you feel called.
Tread Lightly for Lent…A daily reflection-action calendar for the Season of Lent, looking at stewardship of the Earth.
A daily reflection-action calendar for the Season of Lent, looking at stewardship of the Earth, with daily suggestions for being intentional about your walk. The calendars will be available on the Earth Care bulletin board. A large copy of the calendar will be on the Earth Care board as well, where you are invited to share your experience walking-the-walk (stickers will be available to mark the activity(s) you do).
Flawed but Faithful… A 3 week Bible study on Peter. Meeting Sunday’s after worship in Fellowship Hall on March 17, 24, and 31.
Join Rev. Bob Beringer in a 3 week look at Peter – the disciple that walked on water (briefly!) when called by Christ, yet denied Christ at the end, and still became a powerful follower and evangelist for Christ.
Lent Madness…Throughout Lent you will read about the lives of some of the Communion of Saints. Brought to you by the folks at Lent Madness
Once again, Pastor Diane invites you to this Saintly version of March Madness! Throughout Lent you will learn about the lives of some of the Communion of Saints. And the Madness comes in the head-to-head choices Lent Madness followers must make as they determine who will advance to the next round! The full bracket (and more!) is posted in Fellowship Hall.
Prayer Partners… Participate in praying for a specific person in our congregation throughout Lent.
This Lent the Deacons invite you to participate in praying for a specific person in our congregation. Prayer partnerings will be done on March 3. You are asked to keep the person whose name you receive in private prayer throughout Lent. (If you choose, after Lent you may reveal yourself to the one for whom you were praying.) After March 3, please speak with Debbie Patterson if you would like to join in.
One Great Hour of Sharing… This Special Offering (in its 70th year!) will be received on Palm Sunday (April 14).
Lent is also the time for One Great Hour of Sharing (in its 70th year!). As is customary, information about this Special Offering will be posted in Fellowship Hall, including the OGHS map of where and how this ministry is active and the fish banks. The OGHS Offering will be received on Palm Sunday (April 14).
