We explore our faith through opportunities to study scripture and learn more about what we believe. These opportunities offer a chance to reflect on the meaning of church membership and sacraments, and how to articulate our faith with one another and the world. Opportunities include:
Church School: Children begin worshipping with their family in the sanctuary. After the “Word to Young Christians”, they are invited to go to age appropriate classes to learn about God’s love for them.
Coffee Pot Seminars: 4 to 6 week programs are offered to adults before worship (9am – 10am) to explore various issues of theology, biblical interpretation, and other areas of interest. Past seminars have included: daily life in the Old Testament, reformers of the church, religion through art, and a study of the trinity through The Shack.
Bible Study, on Tuesdays at 9am, is offered through reading the lessons for the upcoming Sunday and discussing them with our pastor.
The Presbyterian Women’s Group sponsors a monthly study from the Bible (first Tuesday of the month at 1:30 pm) and a Study group meets the third Thursday of the month at 7 pm. Women’s Retreat is held annually – led by clergy – that includes prayer, discussion, and fellowship. PW’s major fundraisers to aid mission are the summer “Tag Sale” and Christmas Fair.
Youth Group ( 6 – 12th grade) meets one to two times a month for dinner, games, discussion, and outings. Service projects, retreats, and trips are important additional activities.
Confirmation is offered to youths in grades 7 through 9.
